| Amber Leilani New Orleans, LA "My earliest memories are of playing in my mother's jewelry box. I wanted so badly to be a fairy princess like in the fairy tales she read to me, surrounded by jewels and shimmering metals. I don't think I ever really shook that dream and today I still feel a little enchanted when I sit down to work. All of my jewelry is handcrafted in my New Orleans studio using semi-precious and precious gemstone beads, freshwater pearls, glass seed beads, and vintage findings and pendants. I am obsessed with color and texture, and I am completely obsessed with vintage glass from the 1930's. Each piece is one-of-a-kind or limited edition. I never want to mass produce anything. I want my pieces to seem alive, to move with the body, and I want each piece I make to be as unique as the person who chooses to wear it."
